Is It Illegal To Park In A Fire Lane

What’s the legal rule for parking in a fire lane? I live in a townhouse area where there is a fire lane. It has a sign posted next to the strip explicitly saying to not park there. There’s 2-3 cars who alternately park there and have parked there for weeks, I’ve contacted my landlord and she said she’s told them to move but they haven’t.
